The future of aviation and space exploration is defined by human performance. As aerospace systems become increasingly complex, automated, and interconnected, the role of ergonomics and human factors has never been more crucial. We are excited to announce the revival of the Aerospace Technical Committee (TC), and we invite you to become a key member in shaping its new direction.
This committee will lead efforts to ensure that aerospace systems—from cockpit design and air traffic control to spacecraft interfaces and ground operations—are optimized for human safety, efficiency, and well-being. We are seeking dedicated human factors specialists, aerospace engineers, researchers, pilots, and industry professionals ready to advance this critical field.
As a member, you will contribute to core objectives, including:
- Promote the integration of ergonomics principles into the design, certification, and operation of next-generation aircraft, spacecraft, and related technologies.
- Pinpoint key human factors challenges in areas such as flight deck automation, crew resource management, maintenance operations, and space mission design.
- Foster collaboration between ergonomists, regulators, manufacturers, and operators to develop and advocate for human-centered standards and best practices.
- Support the IEA community by contributing to a leading-edge thematic track on Aerospace Human Factors at the IEA Triennial Congress.
