Michael S. Wogalter is a Professor of Psychology at North Carolina State University and is a faculty member in the Human Factors and Ergonomics Psychology graduate program. Most of his research focuses on the factors that influence warning effectiveness and people’s perceptions of hazard and risk. Interests also include applied cognition and human-technology interaction. He has written more than 300 research-based publications, of which about 200 relate to warnings and risk communication, including three other edited books on the topic. He has served as an expert witness in various legal cases involving human factors and warnings issues.
